What we actually do?
N Fresh Food is the Australian end of a supply chain that starts in Vietnamese farming cooperatives. We don’t buy from trading agents and hope the documents hold up. We work directly with the growers and manufacturers, which means when an inspector asks where a batch came from, we can answer with a certificate, not a guess.
For every product we bring in, we take responsibility for the full path:
Import eligibility check
we confirm the product's status under Australian biosecurity import conditions before anyone books a container. If a product isn't permitted, we tell you in week one, not after it's sitting at the port.
Permits and documentation
import permits where required, phytosanitary certificates, health certificates, packing declarations, and commercial documents prepared to match.
Customs and delivery
tariff classification, clearance, and delivery into our Australian warehouse or direct to your DC.

Why this matters more for Vietnamese products than most
Vietnam is a young export origin for packaged food into Australia. That means fewer established precedents, more scrutiny on new suppliers, and a much higher chance of a hold at the border if documentation is thin.
Most importers manage this by working with whichever exporter is cheapest and absorbing the failures. We took the opposite approach: we tied ourselves to one production base — HTX Tam Nông Việt Nam — and built the documentation upstream, at the cooperative, before the goods ever move.
That’s slower to set up. It’s far more stable once running.
- How it works?
- Product assessment (3–5 business days) — you send us specifications, ingredients, current label and certificates. We tell you whether it can enter Australia, and what has to change.
- Compliance build (2–6 weeks) — label redesign, documentation package, supplier declarations, shelf-life evidence.
- Trial consignment — a small first shipment to test the full path end to end before committing to volume.
- Ongoing supply — scheduled consignments, held stock in Australia, documentation renewed on cycle.
What we import?
Our core categories are shelf-stable and travel well:
- Rice — including ST25 and purple rice
- Dried and powdered products from our processing lines (heat-pump dried, spray dried, freeze dried)
- Fermented sauces and condiments under the Làng Ta brand
- Packaged agricultural specialties from the cooperative's growing regions
Frequently asked questions
How long before a new product is on shelf in Australia?
For a straightforward shelf-stable product with clean documentation, plan on 8–12 weeks from first assessment to first delivered stock. Products needing new certification, shelf-life studies or label reformulation take longer.
Who is the importer of record?
VN Fresh Food, operating in Australia. That means the compliance obligation — and the liability — sits with us, not with your business.
Can you handle small volumes?
For a first trial, yes. We’d rather start with one pallet that works than one container that doesn’t.
